The Brown Wool Coat

In all honesty, I don't remember exactly when I made this coat.

I'm pretty sure it was around my senior year of high school. This wool coat and a number of items coming up were all made around the same time.

This coat was a bit of a disappointment for me when I finished it. While the lining was a fun color, the fit is too big, I didn't structure the collar properly and the 4-H judge who looked at it was critical that I used the purple lining for the hidden pockets. Oh, and the snaps are really hard to use.

This was the first time I tried to do this style of collar and the first time I put in shoulder pads.

Next time I make a coat, I'll definitely be spending more time on learning how to structure the collar. I don't want to have to safety pin it to stay in place like I did with this one!
